Hoʻākea: Wa’a Kaulua Pae Kula

Voyage Begins | In School

Hoʻākea: Waʻa Kaulua Pae Kula is a program on Kauaʻi o Manokalanipō under the Superintendentʻs Hoʻākea Initiative that brings double-hulled canoes to all HIDOE schools with waʻa and ʻāina rotations.

Hoʻākea: Waʻa Kaulua Pae Kula aims to accomplish the vision to hoʻākea (broaden) our studentsʻ understanding of waʻa and ʻāina and setting a strong foundation of being globally-competitive and locally-committed.

Our program mission sets the course to help students to navigate their future with vision and confidence through engaging in culturally-relevant, pathway-aligned educational experiences.
